Promotions in online booking (what your customers see)
You configure promotions in the dashboard on the Promotions page, but the payoff happens on your public booking site. The booking site renders each kind of promotion differently, and in different places — so it helps to know exactly what lands in front of a customer before you build one. This guide walks through the customer's side of every promotion, with the icons and wording they actually see.
Announcement banners
An announcement shows up as a styled banner card at the top of the booking page. It leads with the icon you chose in the dashboard (information, warning, discount tag, event, or announcement), followed by your heading, sub-heading and description in the customer's language. If you set a background, border or font colour, the banner uses it; otherwise the text colour is picked automatically so it stays readable against your background. Add an image and the banner becomes a hero card, with a dark gradient laid over the picture so white text stays legible.
Banners are informational only — they carry no discount code, no price, and no dates. Every customer can dismiss a banner with its close (X) button, and once dismissed it stays gone for that browser and won't come back. If more than one announcement is live at once, they cycle in a swipeable carousel instead of stacking.
Banners appear at the top of the calendar, the session/offers picker, and the simple session slot list. They do not appear on the resource treatment picker or the resource-treatment slot list.
Early-bird price: the tag badge
Early-bird pricing rewards customers for booking ahead — the reduced price applies automatically, with no code to enter. On the calendar, a session that qualifies for an early-bird price gets a solid green disc badge with a tag icon (mdi-tag) tucked into its top-left corner, labelled "Book early & save". That badge is the customer's cue that this slot is cheaper right now.
Open or hover that session and the discount is spelled out: the standard price is shown struck through, the lower early-bird price sits next to it in bold, and a green "Save {amount}" chip confirms the difference. When the early-bird price is due to rise, a nudge appears — "Early-bird price until {date}. · then {amount}" — showing when the current price ends and the higher price that follows. This same struck-price, bold-price, "Save" and "then" pattern shows in the calendar hover card, the session bottom sheet, and — with a tag-outline icon and an inline discounted-price chip — on the simple session slot list.
Early-bird PRICE vs early ACCESS
These two are easy to confuse and are completely separate.
- Early-bird price is about money: a slot is cheaper if booked far enough ahead. Its icon is the tag (mdi-tag / mdi-tag-outline), and its wording is "Book early & save" / "Save {amount}".
- Early access is about visibility: a customer can book a slot ahead of the public opening, but it is not a discount. Its icon is a star (mdi-star-outline), labelled "Early access", with the hint "You can book ahead — opens to everyone on {date}."
Because early access is a visibility rule rather than a price, it is covered under Session visibility & bookability.
Where early-bird pricing shows — and where it does not
Early-bird pricing surfaces on the calendar (tile badge and hover card), the session bottom sheet, and the simple session slot list. It does not appear on the resource-treatment slot list: that surface shows only the standard price, with no tag badge, no strike-through, and no chip. So a session priced at 400 kr with a 340 kr early-bird price shows the discount on the calendar and session list, but the very same offer reached through a resource shows only 400 kr. Plan for this — if a booking page is resource-treatment based, early-bird pricing is invisible to those customers. (Early access, by contrast, does show on the resource slot list.)
Last-minute pricing: the same badge, closer to start time
Last-minute pricing is the mirror image of early-bird: instead of rewarding a booking made far ahead, it discounts a session booked within a set number of hours of its start. It is configured on the same Pricing promotions tab as early-bird, uses the same automatic, no-code application, and follows the same presentation pattern on the calendar, hover card, session bottom sheet and simple session slot list — struck-through standard price, bold discounted price and a "Save {amount}" chip. Like early-bird, it does not appear on the resource-treatment slot list.
Applying a discount code
Discount codes set up on the Promotions page (Discount codes) are entered in the same Voucher code field on the Cart page used for gift vouchers, and a valid code reduces the price of the sessions it covers before payment. This is separate from the early-bird and last-minute pricing described above, which need no code at all.
Applying a voucher code
Gift vouchers are a separate system from discount codes. The customer types a voucher code into the Voucher code field on the Cart page. It appears only when vouchers are enabled, there are session items in the cart, and a balance remains to pay. The customer types the code and taps apply; a valid voucher then shows as a row with its description, remaining balance, and the amount deducted. Customers who already hold vouchers on their profile can apply them with one-tap chips instead of typing.
Announcement banners, early-bird and last-minute pricing, and discount codes are all configured on the dashboard Promotions page.
