Treatment details

This dialog creates and configures a treatment — a bookable service clients can book on the booking site. It opens in fullscreen with two tabs, Treatment and Fields. Save with the Save button in the toolbar; it stays disabled until you have changed something, Name and Duration are filled in and the slug is valid. Closing with the X discards unsaved changes after asking Discard changes?. Editing requires Manage access to Configuration & settings; without it the whole dialog is read-only and the Save button is not shown.

Treatment tab

  • Status switch — toggles between Treatment online (published and bookable) and Treatment offline (hidden). A new treatment starts offline.
  • Name — required, up to 50 characters.
  • Slug — the address fragment used for this treatment on the booking site (shown after a "/"); up to 50 characters, and it may only contain letters, digits, hyphens and underscores. Any other character shows "Only letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores are allowed" and blocks saving. Without a slug, the booking site uses the treatment's internal identifier in the address.
  • Appointment types — a Physical / Video / Both toggle setting where the treatment can take place. The toggle is hidden for group organisations, and also hidden unless the Video module is enabled with its credentials fully configured — unless the treatment already has a video appointment type, in which case it stays visible and editable. See Run video appointments.
  • Duration — the length in minutes (minimum 1; a new treatment starts at 30). It determines the size of the time block reserved in the scheduler when an appointment is created for this treatment, and the length of the times the booking site offers.
  • Duration description — an optional free-text label of up to 50 characters. It is saved, but currently not shown on the booking site.
  • Texts — the multi-language Heading, Sub heading and Description. The booking site's treatment card shows the heading (or the name, when no heading is set) and the description.
  • Images — a Profile (square) and a Pan (wide) picture. The first saved picture appears on the booking site's treatment card; see Add images and promotional video.
  • Tags — free-form labels used for grouping and searching.
  • Mark for deletion — the trash icon in the toolbar. One click marks the treatment at once, without a confirmation question; the icon turns into a filled, warning-coloured trash can, the rest of the form locks and a banner reads "Marked for deletion — this item will be deleted when you save. Close or press Esc to cancel the deletion." Save to remove the existing treatment, or click the icon again (or close the dialog) to cancel. It is not available while creating a new treatment.

Pricing (Payments module)

The Price field, the VAT rate toggle and the Price description field only appear when the Payments module is enabled for your organisation — without it there is no pricing UI at all. The available VAT rates come from the organisation's configured rates; for a new treatment the first rate is preselected.

  • Price — the amount a client pays for one booking. An empty price is saved as 0, which makes the booking free.
  • VAT rate — saved with the treatment, but not used for orders: the VAT on a treatment booking comes from the VAT rate of the booked resource (its Attributes table in Resource details).
  • Price description — an optional label of up to 50 characters; saved, but currently not shown on the booking site.

Fields tab

The Fields tab lists the client field definitions with a Use field checkbox, the field name, whether it is Required and Self managed, its Scope (physical, video or both) and its Type. Tick Use field to include a field, and drag rows by the handle to change the order.

Temporary limitation. The selection made here is currently not stored on the server, and the booking site does not read it for treatment bookings — the checkout of a treatment asks for the fields selected on the booking template. Select the fields you need on the booking template instead (see Configure checkout fields).

What saving changes elsewhere

Saving copies the treatment's status, duration and appointment types to every resource that offers it (the resource's Treatments tab). Appointments that are already booked are not changed. To make a treatment bookable, tick it on a resource's Treatments tab — see Create a treatment.
